Brandon takes 3 to 2 series lead with double OT victory

The Wild would get first period goals from Wyatt Dyck and Declan Siwicki to take a 2 to 0 lead into the second period.

Cole Lobreau would score the loan goal of the second period to get Brandon on the board. The Wild would still carry a 2 to 1 lead after 40 minutes.

Brandon's Ethen Church would open the third period scoring to tie the game at 2. The Wild would regain the lead on a goal from Will Van Norman however Ethan Stanley would tie the game with 34 seconds left in the third to send the game to overtime.

After a scoreless first overtime period Nolan Saunderson would score to give Brandon the win and a 3 to 2 series lead in the best of 7 championship final.

COACHING OPPORTUNITIES: The Hockey Winnipeg AAA Council is accepting coaching applications for the 2023 - 2024 season. The positions are for "AAA" teams in the U15, U17 Prep and U18 Provincial leagues. As well as being part of an outstanding hockey program, all of our AAA coaches receive a generous Year End Honorarium, a semi-annual Travel Allowance, a AAA Team Wear allowance and full reimbursement of fees for required Coaching Qualification Courses and Seminars taken while coaching in the AAA program. Brandon evens best of 7 at 2 games each

Carter Kingerski scored the lone goal of the first period to give the Wild Red a 1 to 0 lead after 20 minutes.

Cole Lobreau would score twice in the second period to give Brandon a 2 to 1 lead after 2 periods.

Jonah Lemoine would extend Brandon's lead to 3 to 1 in third period.

With no further scoring in the game Brandon wins the game 3 to 1 to tie the best of 7 series at 2 games each.

Due to weather conditions tonight's game between Pembina Valley and Eastman has been postponed and rescheduled to March 18 2023 7:15pm in Landmark.

Pembina Valley opens finals with game 1 victory

The first period would see Eastman's Grayson Slaney open to give them a 1 to 0 lead. Corby Stemkowski and Tegan Fehr would respond for Pembina Valley to give them a 2 to 1 lead after 20 minutes.

Pembina Valley would get second period goals from Cohen Lewko, Nathan Froebe and Ragnar Gillis to increase their lead to 5 to 2 after 2 period. Noah Stott replied for Eastman.

Graeme Pickering would score a third period powerplay goal to get Eastman to with 2 goals however that would be as close as they would get. Tegan Fehr would seal the game with his second of the night into an empty net.

With the win Pembina Valley takes a 1 to 0 series lead.
