Special teams give Thrashers Blue victory over Southwest

Mason Mykichuk scored the only goal of the first period to give the Thrashers Blue a 1 to 0 lead going into the second period.

After a scoreless second period Spencer Cullen got Southwest on the board to tie the score at 1.  With the Thrashers on the powerplay Mason Mykichuk would score his second of the game to restore their 1 goal lead.  However the lead was short lived as Dexen Routledge scored 47 seconds later to tie the game at 2.  Crosby Harrison would once again give the Thrashers the lead only to see it disappear when Slater Anderson score a few minutes later.  With time winding down and Southwest on the powerplay Mason Mykichuk would score shorthanded which was his third of the game to put the Thrashers up for good and secure a hard fought 4 to 3 victory.

Strong second period gives Pembina Valley win over Eastman

Cole Secord scored the loan first period goal to give Pembina Valley a 1 to 0 lead after 20 minutes.

The second period would see Pembina Valley extend the lead to 4 to 0 on goal by Gavin Bergen and two from Tegan Fehr.  Eastman would cut the lead down to 3 when Lucas Laramee scored a powerplay goal in the last two minutes of the period.

Despite out shooting Pembina Valley 31 to 7 in the third period only Jimmy Wilcox found the back of the net making the final Pembina Valley 4 Eastman 2.

 

Bruins Black 5 Parkland 4

October 30 2022 - Winnipeg MB

Parkland would control the first period scoring as Ryzlie Nepinak and Noah Smigelsky (2 goals) gave them a 3 to 0 lead after 20 minutes

After a scoreless second period the Bruins would get on the board on a goal by Karsten Woloshen. From their Drayden Uhrina, Braxten Cockell, Joel Vermette and Connor Nolet (empty net) scored to give the Bruins a 5 to 3 lead.  Parkland would get one more when Quinten Fisk scored with 2 second left however there was not enough time for them to get the equalizer making the final Bruins Black 5 Parkland 4.

Eastman holds off late charge by Wild Green

Eastman would get first period goals from Braxton Caruk, Kylan Olson and Asher Gingras to take a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The teams would trade goals in the second period with Anthony Bedard and Luca Pura scoring for the Wild and Seth Hooper and Asher Gingras replying for Eastman.  Eastman would head into the third with a 5 to 2 lead.

The Wild would pull to within 1 goal when Anthony Bedard and Luca Pura each scored their second of the game. Eastman would restore their 3 goal lead on goal by Asher Gingras, his third of the game, and  Lucas Laramee.  However the Wild would make the game interesting when Anthony Bedard completed his hattrick with just over a minute left and Jullian Fedora scored with 4 second left in the period.  However they could not get the equalizer allowing Eastman to hold on for a 7 to 6 voctory.
