The Warriors dominate the Hawks in the second period, leading to victory in the first game back from the winter break.

With the winter break ending, and the second half of the season ready to start, the Bantam 2 Hawks took on the Warriors on home ice at the 7 Oaks Arena.  Just over a minute into the game, the Warriors got on the scoreboard with a goal from Owen Warnick and grabbed an early lead.  Not to be outdone, the Hawks fired back and scored 2 goals of their own both coming from the stick of Carter Bear.  After the Hawks went up 2-1, the play settled down and the game flowed until just after the half-way point of the period.  The Warriors’ Kaeden Woloshen found the back of the net and evened out the score at 2-2.  Shortly after the equalizing goal, the Warriors had the man advantage when defenceman Jonas Woo was able to score from the point and the Warriors retook the lead heading into the second period.

The second period would spell disaster for the Hawks as the Warriors ran away with the score and the game.  Just before the midway point of the second period, after controlling most of the play, the Warriors play proved to be too much for the Hawks netminder Evan Kozak when Hayden Moore of the Warriors scored the eventual game winning goal making the score 4-2.  Not 5 minutes later, the Warriors scored 3 unanswered goals.  Cole Cairns scored his first of two goals in the period with Jaxson Fillion getting one of his own in between the goals by Cairns.  These goals made the score 7-2 and proved to be too big of a deficit to overcome.  The Warriors were only able to get a single goal back, scored by Cole Bilous, in the third period.  The final score of the game was 7-3 in favour of the Hawks.
