Game of the Week: Monarchs 6, Warriors 3 - Bantam II

WINNIPEG - Zach Falck's scored a hat trick as the Winnipeg Monarchs doubled up the Winnipeg Warriors by a score 6-3 Thursday night at the Keith Bodley Arena in Bantam II action.
The Monarchs started things 10:36 into the game on their first power play opportunity of the night. Nine seconds into the man advantage, Drea Esposito's point shot ricocheted off the end boards back in front, where Riley Stotts would bury his 25th goal of the season into the Warriors net.
A few minutes later, Falck start his night would poke in a puck during a scramble to extend the lead to 2-0. Then, with under five minutes left in the period Stotts initial shot was stopped by Brendan Benoit but the rebound would be tapped home by Falck for his second goal of the game. The assist was also Stotts' third point of the game.
The Monarchs made it a four goal lead in the second during a power play advantage in the second. With Declan Douthart off for tripping, Ben Blackwood would blast in his second goal of the season. But in the final minute of the period, Ben Coppinger would put the Warriors on the board as he beat Monarchs goalie Miles Minor.
In the third, with the score 4-2, Falck would score his hat-trick goal to put the game out of reach. It was his 12th marker of the year with another assist going to Stotts to cap a four point night for him. Each team scored late goals but the Monarchs would come out on top in a battle between the two teams in the Bantam II Division.
The teams sit at the top of the Bantam II standings, tied with 35 points each with the Monarchs holding one game in hand. They will play the Hawks this Thursday at the Keith Bodley Arena at 7:15 while the Warriors and Sharks will play each other on Wednesday at Notre Dame.
